Balance Arts International presents THE AUDITION INTENSIVE for Young Emerging Artists and High School Students.
November 16-19, 2018.
Be prepared to show your best with this 4-day audition intensive located in Sierra Madre, CA, a tranquil, nurturing and safe locale, nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley 11 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Young singers receive a weekend of voice lessons, personalized coaching, movement education, body work and mock audition experience, from renowned leaders in the international and academic opera industry.
Program begins Friday evening with a sign through, then private lessons and master classes all day Saturday and Sunday, and a final concert Monday evening in front of a live audience. The performance will be videoed for the participant's use to meet scholarship and application deadlines.
Faculty include Thomas Michael Allen and Lisa Sylvester USC voice professors,Suzanna Guzmán, L.A. Opera Education and song interpretation, Ann Rodiger (New York City)Alexander Technique, and Peter Boon Koh Gyrotonic for singers.

BOON KOH - Gyrotonic®
Boon is a Licentiate of Speech & Drama from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. An actor-director who is comfortable on- and offstage, he has directed Francis Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites for Balance Arts Opera Berlin, and assistant-directed Carmen for Singapore Lyric Theatre.
As a Gyrotonic® trainer, he focuses on helping singers to use their body as an extension of their performance.
As an actor, he has been seen in critical feature films like Apprentice, In The Room and 12 Storeys, and in numerous plays including Tango, Tropical Traumas, Private Parts and Magic Fund
