This ongoing series explores a different aspect of the Technique each month, through themes that are practical, embodied, and immediately useful. Whether you're a performer, someone dealing with pain, completely new to AT, or a longtime student, each series offers fresh perspectives and something genuinely to take home.
Curious about the Alexander Technique and the Balance Arts Center? Join this Free Online Introduction! Class will explore basic principles of the Alexander Technique that guide you toward finding a better balance and dynamic body posture that you will learn to apply to all of your activities. This class will help you begin to discover how to interact with yourself and your environment in an easier and more efficient manner. You will leave with specific ideas to help you approach your thinking and movement in your daily life. All are welcome.

This virtual, 4-class series will contemplate the function of emotions in the Alexander Technique work. We’ll explore bodies of work related to emotions within the world of acting, psychology, and somatic practices. We’ll ask several questions: Can emotional connection enhance the healing possible with the Alexander Technique? Can the Alexander Technique work lead to more emotional health in everyday life? Bring your curiosity and opinions, and let’s explore.
This class series will meet online via Zoom on Monday May 11th & 18th, and June 1st & 8th from 7-8pm ET.
In this class you will explore how working with lighter weights can be a valuable way to strengthen and build tone. What you learn and practice in this class can be applied to activities in your everyday life such as exercising, lifting and carrying things, and more!
This weekly Introduction to the Alexander Technique will explore basic principles of the Alexander Technique that guide you toward finding a better balance and dynamic body posture that you will learn to apply to all of your activities!
This class will help you learn and embody strategies for maintaining your balance and preventing falls. You will be guided through movements that increase coordination and help you refine your balance. Participants will practice supportive strategies to increase your confidence and adaptability in your standing and walking.

You will explore motion and balance in the body and how that helps you to breathe and support your sound. This class will also feature SOVT and other vocal exercises to reduce stress and optimize resonance. You will be guided through a series of movements and recuperative vocal exercises to help you discover more ease, balance and resonance in your speaking or singing voice. This class is great for teachers, public speakers, singers, actors, and anyone interested in refining their vocal health.

Do you want to learn to juggle? Experience the many benefits of juggling by learning to consciously apply Alexander Technique principles to the basic 3-ball cascade. Students will experiment in open practice with the instructor to hone focus, improve hand-eye coordination, and enhance spatial awareness. This workshop is suitable for brand-new jugglers and beginners looking to improve their skills. If you have your own juggling balls, bring them! If not, the BAC will supply them for you.
